Lights and materials
Recently I decided to add textures to all my objects in project. I looked for textures in Textures.com and imported some that I liked into my unreal engine project. I decided to add various grass, mold, rock and wood textures because I thought they would make a good combination for my current project. After some modification I added them to the various meshes in my game.
I also experimented with the various lights that are available in unreal. I decided to change the directional light a bit so it would help give more emphasis to the other lights in my game. I decided to add point lights at some larger areas to help brighten the whole place up. I also added some spotlights on different areas I though would be interesting and would mimic areas that they might be in, such as at the end of an object or at the front of a house. Last I added Rect. lights to more compact areas to see their effect and to see if they could work as hallway lights or underground lights.
